As the DEI Manager at CES Group, Mia is dedicated to fostering an environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. In addition to her role at CES Mia holds a BA in counselling, reflecting her commitment to advocating for marginalized communities and promoting equity and inclusion.

Mia is also a founding member and active participant with Autistics United Canada, advocating for the rights and inclusion of individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Her personal commitment to neurodiversity and inclusion enriches her approach to diversity and equality in the workplace. Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) due to her own hearing loss, Mia further enhances her ability to connect with and support diverse communities, including deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Mia also leads our efforts in the inclusion of Indigenous peoples within our organization and policies, working closely with Indigenous communities to develop culturally sensitive practices and initiatives.

Mia is supported in her role by her service dog, Oakley, who provides her with assistance and companionship throughout her workday. Oakley’s presence exemplifies our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where all members of our team, including those with disabilities, are valued and supported.

Mia works closely with leadership, HR, and other departments to develop and implement strategic initiatives that cultivate a culture of inclusion and belonging. She provides guidance and support to employees at all levels, ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integral parts of our company’s mission and values.

Mia’s dedication to creating positive change is evident both in her professional endeavors and her community involvement. She believes that diversity is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic advantage, and she is committed to driving meaningful progress towards a more inclusive workplace and society.

Outside of work, Mia is a passionate equestrian and has participated in many 3-day event competitions throughout British Columbia on her noble steed, Peanut. Her dedication to equestrianism reflects her commitment to discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, qualities that she brings to her role as Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Manager.
